"Etymology. The specific epithet “verdolaga” is a noun in
apposition and refers to the main nickname of Football Club Atlético Nacional, one of the football teams based in Medellín. The greenish dark color of the femora of this new species resembles the distinctive green color of the team, which derived from the flags of Antioquia and Medellín, where this species is distributed."
